No, the employee cannot apply for leave for a date range that is defined as a Restricted Holiday.


A Restricted Holiday also called an optional or discretionary holiday, allows employees to choose a set number of holidays from a list of optional ones provided by their employer or organization.


When you apply for leave for a date that is already defined as a Restricted Holiday or weekend, the application shows the following error message: You don’t need leave for the given date range.
