A Restricted Holiday, also known as an optional holiday, is a holiday that is not officially recognized as a mandatory day off by the employer or government. These holidays provide employees with the flexibility to choose specific days off based on their personal or religious preferences.

To apply for RH on behalf of an employee, the manager must perform the following actions:

  1. From the greytHR ESS portal, navigate to Leave > Leave Apply. The Leave Apply page opens.
  2. Click the Restricted Holiday option. The form appears.
  3. Under the Apply tab, from the Applying For Restricted Holiday dropdown list, select the employee on behalf of whom you want to apply for RH.
  4. From the Holiday dropdown list, select the required Holiday. The reporting manager details update automatically in the Applying to search box.
  5. Under the CC to, click +ADD to inform other team members about the leave application.
  6. In the Reason text box, enter the reason of the team member for taking RH.
  7. Click Submit to apply for RH on behalf of an employee.
