How can manager apply for Restricted Holiday?

A Restricted Holiday, also known as an optional holiday refers to a holiday that is not officially recognized as a mandatory day off by the employer or government.

Restricted Holidays offer employees the freedom to select certain days as holidays based on their personal or religious preferences. These holidays may be significant to specific communities, regions, or religious groups.


To apply for a restricted holiday, the manager must perform the following actions:

  1. From the greytHR ESS portal navigate to click Leave > Leave Apply.
  2. Click Restricted Holiday.
  3. Select Holiday from the dropdown list.
    Note: After you select the Holiday, the system displays holiday balance and the number of team members on leave.
  4. The Applying to search box automatically displays your reporting manager. You can also enter the manager’s name to search for the person manually in the search box.
  5. Click Add (+) and select the employee to add any employee whom you wish to notify about the details of your restricted holiday application as CC.
  6. Enter your contact number in Contact details text box.
  7. Enter remarks in Remarks text box.
  8. Click Submit to apply for a Restricted Holiday.
