How can admin create a Goal Plan?

A goal plan is a structured framework that helps employees and managers set, track, and evaluate measurable objectives aligned with the organization's broader goals.


To create a goal plan, the admin must perform the following actions:


  1. From the greytHR Admin portal, navigate to Performance Management > Goal Plans. The Goal Plans page opens.

  2. Click Create Plan. A form opens.

  3. In the Plan Details section, from the Goal Plan Type dropdown, select Performance/Developmental/Organizational/Other as per your requirements.

  4. In the Goal Plan Name textbox, enter the required name. 

  5. From the Performance Period dropdown list, select the required performance period.

  6. From the Goal Plan Duration dropdown calendar, select the date range that falls within the selected performance period.

  7. In the Description text box, enter a short note describing the goal plan.

  8. Click Upload Policy Document to attach a file about the policy document guidelines. It is not mandatory to add the guidelines.

  9. Click Next. The Select Employees section opens.

  10. From the Employee Filter dropdown list, select the employees you want to add to the goal plan.
    Note: You can also click to add a new employee filter.

  11. Click Next. The Set Timelines section opens.

  12. From the Select days for the users to modify goals after the goal plan starts spin box, select the required number of days users can add and modify their goals after the goal plan starts.

  13. From the Select days for the users to check-in after goal plan ends spin box, select the required number of days users can check in even after the goal plan ends.

  14. Click Next. The Goal Controls section opens to add weightage, send reminders, and define weightage categories.

  15. From the Check-in Reminder dropdown list, select Weekly/Monthly/None.

  16. From the Remind On dropdown list, select the day/month you want to send reminders.

  17. Click the Enable weightage for goals checkbox, to allow the managers/employees to add weightage to their goals.

  18. From the Goal Categories dropdown list, select the required category. You can also select more than one category. The selected category/categories appear in the table. 

  19. In the category table,  in the Goal Count (Min) and Goal Count (Max) columns, enter the minimum and maximum number of goals that can be added by the managers/employees. 

  20. Click Next. The User Controls section opens to define employee goal access to each role. By default,

    1. The Employee can View and Update Progress of their goals. You can also allow the employee to CreateEdit, and Delete goals as per your company policy.

    2. The Manager can CreateEdit, and Delete goals. You can allow the managers to View and Update Progress of the goals as per your company policy.

    3. The Manager’s manager roles can be customized as per your company policy.

  21. Click Next. The Summary of the goal plan opens.

  22. Review the summary of the goal plan. You can also edit the summary by clicking ➡ available in each section.

  23. Click Save. The Save Goal Plan pop-up opens.

  24. Click Confirm. A success message appears and the configured goal plan moves to the Draft tab.


Note: You can edit or delete a goal plan by clicking the Settings/Delete icons on the goal plan card. Once the goal plan activates, you cannot make changes.
