Creating multiple attendance schemes makes it difficult for the admins to manage it. It is recommended to avoid such an approach whenever possible.
However, if the admin has multiple shifts with a common week off for all employees, then there is no need to create multiple attendance schemes to adjust these shifts. A more streamlined approach is to create a single General Shift and map it by default to a single attendance scheme.
Following are the two common scenarios that help in better shift assignment:
Random shift assignments based on business needs:
We recommend the admins assign the shifts through the shift roster if shifts are assigned randomly to employees according to business needs. Managers can also allocate shifts for individual days through the ESS portal, or even an admin can perform the same task. To view the Shift Roster page:
Navigate from the greytHR Admin portal to Leave > Information > Shift Roster.
Predefined shifts with start and end dates:
When shifts are predefined with specific start and end dates, the admin can assign shifts from the Shift Override page. To view the Shift Roster page:
Navigate from the greytHR Admin portal to Leave > Admin > Shift Override.
