When an employee is unable to personally submit the leave application due to various reasons, such as illness, emergency situations, or unavailability, the admin submits a request for a leave of absence on behalf of an employee.
To apply for leave on behalf of an employee, the admin must perform the following steps:
- From the greytHR Admin portal, navigate to Leave > Information > Employee Leave. The Employee Leave page opens.
- On the Employee Leave page, search for the employee for whom you want to apply for leave.
- Click Apply On Behalf. The Apply On Behalf page opens.
- From the Leave Type dropdown, select the required leave type.
- From the From Date dropdown calendar, select the date from which the employee has taken leave.
- From the From Session dropdown list, select the relevant session.
- From the To Date dropdown calendar, select the date up to which employee has taken leave.
- From the To Session dropdown list, select the relevant session.
- From the Apply To dropdown list, select the reporting manager of the employee.
- In the Reason description box, specify the reason. It is a good practice to specify the reason.
- In the Contact Details text box, enter the employee's contact number in case of an emergency. This step is not mandatory.
- In the CC To dropdown list, select another employee, in case you want to notify someone else too. This step is not mandatory.
- Click Upload File to upload the related documents. This step is not mandatory.
- Click Save to apply for leave on the employee's behalf.
