Leave refers to the authorized absence granted to an employee from work for a specific period.
Applying for leave on behalf of a team member means that a manager submits a leave request in the system on behalf of an employee. This situation may arise when the team member is unable to apply for leave due to absence, technical issues, or for employees who may not have regular access to smartphones or computers.
To apply for leave on behalf of a team member, the manager must perform the following actions:
From the greytHR mobile application, navigate to Explore > Leave > Apply Leave. The Leave screen opens.
Tap Apply on Behalf. The Applying on Behalf screen appears.
Select the team member on behalf of whom you want to apply for leave. The Apply screen appears.
Note: You can also search for the team member using the search box.Select the Leave Apply card.
From Leave type, select the required leave type. For example. Annual Leave. The Annual Leave screen appears.
From the From date and To date dropdown calendar, select the required dates.
From Select from Sessions, select the relevant sessions.
Reporting manager details automatically update in the Applying to search box.
Under CC, tap the + icon to inform other team members about the leave application.
In the Reason text box, enter the reason for taking leave.
Tap the + icon next to Attachments to attach leave related documents.
Under Contact details, enter the contact information.
Tap Apply. A success message appears.
Note:
Only the manager who applies for leave on behalf of the team member can view their leave history.
The reviewer can also Forward, Reject, or Approve the leave request if there is a second level of reviewer.
