What are the professional tax slab rates in Odisha?

Professional tax (PT) is a tax imposed by state governments in India on individuals who earn a salary or income through a profession, trade, calling, or employment. It is governed by the respective state's Professional Tax Act or Rules.

Note: The Government of Odisha has discontinued Professional Tax (PT) effective 01 April 2026. PT will not be applicable or deducted for employees working in Odisha from this date onward. However, any PT deductions up to 31 March 2026 will remain valid.

The Professional Tax slab in the state of Odisha is as follows:


Yearly Salary Range	PT per month
Up to Rs. 160000	0
Rs.160001 to Rs. 300000	Rs.125
Rs.160001 to Rs. 300000	Rs.200 for 11 months Rs.300 to be deducted for the 12th. month
