How can admin view/update professional tax slabs?

The professional tax slab is the categorization of individuals based on their income or professional earnings for the purpose of levying professional tax.

To view/update professional tax slabs, the admin must perform the following actions:

  1. From the greytHR Admin portal, navigate to Settings icon > System Settings > Payroll > Profession Tax Slabs. The Professional Tax Slabs page opens.
  2. From the State dropdown list, select the required state. The page displays the tax slabs for the selected state.


  • To update a tax slab for a particular state, double-click a cell and enter the required information in the Salary FromSalary TillTax Amount, and Deduction Month columns.
  • You can also delete a tax slab by clicking the Delete icon available on each tax slab row.
