An attendance cycle is a defined time period used to track and manage employee attendance, aligning with the payroll or shift schedule.

Any date or date range that falls in two different cycles are considered as overlapping days.

For example: Cycle A is created from Jan 1st to Jan 31st, and Cycle B is created from Jan 25th to Feb 24th. Since the dates Jan 25th to Jan 31st is considered in both the cycles theses dates are considered as overlapping days.

When the admin creates a new attendance cycle the system checks for overlapping dates. If any overlapping days are found, it highlights the changes and displays the affected attendance months, allowing the admin to adjust the dates accordingly.

To adjust the overlapping days, the admin must perform the following actions:

  1. From the greytHR Admin portal, navigate to Settings > System Settings > Attendance > Attendance Cycle. The Attendance Cycle page opens.

  2. Click +Add Attendance Cycle. The Add Attendance Cycle pop-up appears.

  3. In the Attendance Cycle Name textbox, enter the attendance cycle name.

  4. From the Start Date spin box, select a date to start the attendance cycle. The end date auto-populates.

  5. From the Cut-Off Date spin box, select a date to lock all the attendance activities.

  6. From the Employee Filter dropdown list, select the required employees.
Note: You can also add a new employee filter by clicking the icon.

  7. From the Effective From dropdown calendar, select a date for the cycle to become effective.
Note: If overlapping days are found, the system highlights the change. It also shows the affected attendance months so you can adjust the dates.

  8. Click Save.
