How can admin address the issue of Late In and Early Out penalties due to different time zones?

A time zone is the specific schedule for an employee's work shift.

It is important that attendance processing matches the time zone of each employee's assigned shift.


To address the issue of Late In and Early Out penalties due to different time zones, the admin must perform the following actions:

  1. From the greytHR Admin portal, navigate to Settings icon > System Settings > Miscellaneous Advanced Options. The Advanced Options page opens.

  2. In the Section text box select Attendance from the dropdown list.

  3. In the Search text box, search for Time Zone. The option Consider Time Zone From Shift For Time Processing appears.

NoteIf your employees are located in a different time zone then you must enable this option to process attendance as per the employees’ shift time zone to avoid miscalculations of timings.

  1. Under the Value column, select the checkbox available next to the option Consider Time Zone From Shift For Time Processing.

  2. Click Save to update the changes.
