The excess hours is the amount of time spent by the employee over and above their shift hours. For example, if the employee’s shift is from 9 am to 6 pm and consider employee works from 9 am to 8 pm, then the excess hours is 2 hours.
Calculation of excess hours starts only when the employees extend their work beyond the scheduled shift timings. The excess hours will be recorded once the scheduled shift hours have concluded. It is important to note that excess hours are not computed if an employee merely fulfills the minimum required hours for a full day.
