How can employee apply for leave from their ESS portal?

Leave is the authorized time off from work that employees can take for various reasons, such as vacation, sick leave, personal days, or other approved absences.


To apply for leave from your ESS portal, the employees must perform the following actions:

  1. From the greytHR ESS login, navigate to Leave > Leave Apply. The Leave Apply page opens. 
  2. On the Leave Apply page, click Leave
  3. Select Leave type from dropdown list.
  4. From the From date and To date dropdown calendar, select the required dates.
  5. From the Sessions dropdown list, select the respective sessions.
  6. Your reporting manager will automatically be displayed in Applying to search box. You can also search for the person manually in the search box by typing their name.
  7. Click CC to and select the employee to add any employee whom you wish to notify the details of your leave application as CC.
  8. In the Contact details text box, enter your contact number.
  9. In the Reason text box, enter a reason for taking leave.
  10. Click Attach file to attach any leave-related documents.
  11. Click Submit to apply for leave. The system sends an email notification to the approver and to the contacts you have marked in the CC of the leave application.
