Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is a feature used for authentication of applications. It enables you to access multiple web applications using single login credentials. SAML works by passing authentication information in a specific format between two parties.
The two parties are usually an Identity Provider (IdP) and a web application.
For example: When you try to access an application, the service provider asks the IdP to authenticate your access. Thus, the service provider uses the SAML assertion issued by the IdP to grant you access to the requested application.
