Stopping salary processing can be necessary for a variety of reasons, such as when an employee has resigned, has been terminated, or is on an extended leave of absence. It is an important task that requires careful attention to detail and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

The difference between stop salary processing and hold salary payout is as follows:

  • Stop salary processing: The Stop salary processing option enables the admin to stop the payroll process of an employee. This is usually done when an employee is on long leave without pay, absconding, on notice, or pending settlement. When you remove an employee from the list, the previous month's status is not affected and the employee continues to be on the stop-payment list for the previous months.
  • Hold salary payout: The Hold salary payout option allows the admin to hold an employee’s salary for whom the details are yet to be verified or incomplete at greytHR. It has no impact on the salary processing of the concerned employee.
